Christmas Cards Swap

I wanted to share with you some cards I just made for a swap at
our local scrapbook store The Village Scrapbooker.

I purchased one of the kits for $10 and you just have to make 5
cards that look alike, but don't necessarily have the same items on them.
Which if you have ever done a swap like this before it can be a bot of
a challenge to achieve that goal.

So this month our kit contained rub-ons, wood words and cards from Kaiser Craft.
Also some ribbon in Christmas colors.

Here was what I came up with....

I colored all of the wooden shapes with a Copic marker and then covered them in
Stickles glitter glue. I set them aside to dry and worked on the background of the card
using two different sized snowflakes and a flourish stamp from Close To My Heart
with red and green ink. The border of the card where I wove the ribbon through
already had the holes in it to do this so that was pretty simple.
Then I cut apart the rub-ons to make them how I liked the sayings and put it
all together. Easy enough...but I love the look.

Hope you have enjoyed...See you soon.

A Memorial To Molly - A sweet Yorkie

So this is a sad post but I wanted to share as many have you have heard
me talk about Molly. Molly belongs to Joan my good friend who has
taught me everything I know about knitting.
A little story about how I met Joan...
I met Joan by accident back in January of this year at our local
Jo-ann Fabrics store in the yarn department.
I admired a pair of sicks she was working on for her grandson and commented
how I would love to learn to knit. She was so sweet to offer
to teach me after my comment. Come to find out she lives just a few
miles from my house.

So our journey together began and she has been a wonderful
teacher and friend over the last 8 months. I have gotten to know her quite well
and her sweet little Yorkie "Molly".

Molly had to be put to rest long before her time was up, but it was best for her so
she wouldn't suffer...she is now over the rainbow playing without pain...

I had to make something for Joan who was so heartbroken over her recent loss...
So this is what I came up with...

A shadow box frame with a great photo I took of the two of them back in the Spring.
And a perfect close-up of sweet Molly.
I presented it to Joan a few days after Molly was gone and she was so grateful
that I had taken those pictures.

I dressed up a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock with a piece of designer paper and
used a paper doily to dress it up a bit.
Added some rhinestone flourishes, mulberry flowers and glittered wire.
There you have it a perfect memorial for Mollie.

I know many people would say she was just an animal, but she was more than that.
She was a friend, a family member and a beloved companion to Joan.
I also miss Molly when I go to Joan's house now because she use to jump
off the couch to come and greet me at the door when I would come.
She couldn't wait for me to pick her up and she would smother me with kisses.
Joan use to threated her that if she acted up she was going to send her home with me.
Some threat that was...it never scared Molly.
She was only 7 3/4 years old, not very old at all.

Well I do hope you have enjoyed my project and will come back soon.
Have a great day!
Jennifer

Gaduation Card

Sorry it has been so long...I promise to be better at these updates now...
with summer winding down...
kids preparing to go back to school...

I wanted to share a graduation card that I made special for our
neighbor that graduated from Fairport back in June...

For the card I used a Papetrey Ink set called
"For The Graduate".
I used the coordinating dies for the set and personalized the
card in our school colors.

Next up is the envelope....I want you to know that I do not
normally go all out on my envelopes like this, but I figured it
was a very special occasion for our neighbor and he deserved it...

I hope you have enjoyed my creation and I will see you back her soon...

Have a great day!

Daisy Baby Afghan

Hello Everyone!!!
It's been a little bit since I have been on here, but I wanted to share
a new project that I just finished...

The pattern for this can be found at
It was really sweet and looked very interesting so I gave it a try.
I wanted to make it to take to the craft show that I will be
a vendor in on November 22nd at our local school.

I  love the colors I used...Magenta, Pink, Olive Green and White.

It took me 17.25 hours from start to finish....I thought that was not too bad for the work involved
with it....I hope that who ever buys it will take care of it and have it for a family heirloom.

I used the Vanna's Choice yarn which I really had not used before and I like it.
It is a nice weight and durable.

I will keep posting new items as I get them done.

Thanks for stopping by and Have a great day!
Jennifer

Thought I would share a new album I made with all of you.
I love these albums and all of the space they offer
for you to add everything from photos to memorabilia.

The inside cover holds 3 decorated tags...

Each page on the inside has a pocket on the back of it...

Then each page has a fold out page...for even more space

Back inside cover has tiny pockets that hold embellished tags...

Each page is made out of a paper bag that has the opening on top
and holds an additional page that is capable of holding a photo on the
front and back of it...and journaling.

This album is for sale on Ebay if anyone is interested....click on the link below...
