Back to School Gift For My Niece

So I visited with my niece the other day for a the first time in quite a
while and I wanted to make her a little back-to-school gift that
she would find useful for the upcoming school year.

So I made her a really cute backpack filled with some goodies...

That tiny pocket on the front was too small to put a gift card into, but it
was the perfect size for some money!!! So I put $5 in for some extra treats
at lunchtime at school. She thought that was awesome!!!

The pattern for this backpack is by Becky Roberts of Inking Idaho.
It is a tutorial that I bought some time ago and have used it for many
special people in my life...It's definitely a favorite...

So this is what the back looks like.

So these are some cute bookmarks made out of library cards.
I decorated them and then laminated them so they would hold
up over time and lots of use by a teenager...

Last was a little composition book that I had picked up and recovered with
some patterned paper and attached a pen to so she would lose it.

I also included some post-it notes so she can stick them wherever she needs one
and some labels for her books and folders if she needs them.
She was overjoyed with it and thought it was a very cute and
clever gift idea...She rocks as a teenager!!!

Have a great day!

A Baby Gift

So I had to share some baby gifts I just made for some
friends of ours that just had their new baby.
They wanted to be surprised so we didn't know what it
was until the day it was born...so I had to work fast to get
things done before the baby came home from the hospital...

It's a boy!!! The theme for his room is sports so I came up with
these items for him....

A framed picture with all of his birth information...
I hand stamped this with a whole bunch of Close To My Heart Alphabets.

Next I made him some onesies with pics of his dad's favorite sports teams...
This was done using some images off the Internet and iron on transfer paper run through
the computer and then ironed onto the onesies.

And last was a crocheted blanket that I picked the color not knowing that
it would end up matching his room perfectly.

This is just a close-up of the blanket so you could see the stitches.

And this was the card I made for them...
It uses the Simple Stories Baby line.

Hope you've enjoyed the projects.
See you soon,
Jennifer

A Gift For The Kids Swim Coach

So the kids have been busy this summer taking swim lessons.
It had to be done at this point...we had put it off for much too long.
So on the last day of lessons I wanted to give a little something to
the kids swim coach to let her know how much we appreciated her.

I asked her what her favorite color was...Pink!!!
Here is what I made for her...

This was a set of 4 cards that I made using Paertrey Inks - Pretty Peonies set
and dies. This set is one of my favorties from them. I even decorated the
envelopes to match the cards.

This next gift uses a Stampin Up! case that I hand stamped a
background for and embellished using Papretrey Inks - The Sweet Life set.

On the inside I made a set of stationary with matching envelopes.
And a bookmark made out of a library card.

Here is a close-up of the library card.

And here are some close-ups of the inside...

I am quite happy with the end results of this, and she
loved it when we gave it to her...

Have a great day!

Bright Cheery Card Sets

So I know it has been quite sometime since I last posted anything on here.
With the kids home this summer and a busy schedule it seems there wasn't
a whole lot of time to do these things. There wasn't a whole lot of
crafting time either...so I am looking forward to school getting
underway if anything for a little me time!!!
Not that I don't love my kids, but we all need some me time!!!

So a few weekends ago I did get some time here and there to put
these card sets together. They use some items that I bought through
Etsy that are digital and you can print out as many times as you want.

So the pictures I took I grouped the cards together by the sentiment
on them for the photos, but when I packaged them into sets they
were split up so that each package has one of each sentiment in it.

So what do you think? Do you like them or think they are overdone?
I don't normally mix so many patterns on cards, but they seem to work together
quite well I thought. Leave me a note let me know what you think.

See you soon.
